In 2016, the Scottish Professional Football League utilized the platform to pioneer a live football broadcast in virtual reality at Hampden Park in Glasgow during the national cup final. This marked the inaugural proof of concept for Virtually Live, opening the door for other sports to leverage this groundbreaking technology.
One of the most impactful applications of Virtually Live's technology was within the world of motor racing. Formula E, the electric motor racing series, harnessed the Virtually Live media system to offer race enthusiasts an immersive and interactive racing encounter. The platform underwent testing at the Long Beach ePrix in California on April 2, 2016, and subsequently, an app was made available for download to spectators equipped with an HTC Vive headset.
