“Education has always been an important topic, and with the world changing at a rapid pace, it’s become even more important. With technology advancing rapidly, there are new opportunities to revolutionize the way we learn.“ Steve Grubbs, CEO of VictoryXR.
VictoryXR specializes in virtual and augmented reality technology. In addition to this, the company is incorporating AI technology into its learning environments through the use of avatars that possess the superhero power of artificial intelligence. By bringing these technologies to schools and universities through Metaversities, they will continue to have several transformative impacts.
One of the most exciting use cases is for medical training. AI avatars can be programmed to simulate various medical conditions and scenarios, allowing nursing students to practice their skills and decision-making in a safe and controlled virtual environment. AI avatars can provide real-time feedback to nursing students based on their actions, allowing them to learn from their mistakes and improve their skills. AI avatars can also be programmed to adapt to individual learning styles, providing personalized feedback and support to each student. By implementing these technologies in schools and universities through Metaversities, there will be a number of significant impacts. One use case is that of a nursing student practicing triage in an emergency room. In a 3D virtual environment, the nurse interacts with AI avatars that simulate patients. By asking the right questions, the nurse can learn which patient is having a heart attack and which one has heartburn.
The brilliance of the AI technology is that each patient has a unique medical history and will provide answers only when asked. If the nurse makes mistakes, the patients can be reset and the scenario can be repeated. This low-consequence simulation represents a major paradigm shift for learners. The benefits of incorporating AI into Metaversities or virtual schools are numerous, including realistic simulations of various medical conditions, adaptive feedback for students, personalized learning, cost-effectiveness, and the ability to repeat scenarios for greater practice and skill development. The benefits of integrating AI into metaversities or learning in a metaverse school are numerous. Realistic simulations, personalized learning, cost-effectiveness, repeatable scenarios, and adaptive feedback are just a few of the benefits.
“While the benefits of AI in education are clear, it’s important that we use it in a responsible way. AI should be used to benefit students and global learning, rather than removing the need to think and learn. Human judgment is critical as we determine where AI will play a role in education as we build Metaversities globally,” ~Steve Grubbs
What is a Metaversity?
Steve Grubbs is the Founder and CEO of Victory XR, an innovative education Metaverse company working to create an educational platform for schools. With a background in both technology and education, Steve brings a unique perspective to the field of virtual reality and its potential to revolutionize the way we learn Early in his career, Steve served formerly a state legislator where he served as Chair of the House Education Committee in the Iowa House of Representatives, where he passed the largest funding bill in state history for education. This experience provided Steve with a deep understanding of the challenges facing education today and the potential for technology to address them.
After leaving politics, Steve turned his attention to technology, becoming an early investor in VR and AR startups. He spent two years as the chairman of the YPO Technology Network, a global community of technology leaders from around the world. This experience provided him with valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the field, and helped him to identify a critical need for an educational platform that leverages the power of VR to enhance learning and engagement.
Today, Steve leads the team at Victory XR in their mission to create this platform and bring the benefits of VR to schools around the world. He leads a team of 40, building out digital twin campuses around the world, creating a better way to learn with simulation. With his experience in both education and technology, Steve is well-positioned to drive innovation in the field of VR education and make a real impact on the way we learn.
